CAPO: 2nd fret (Sounds in key of E)
De-tune a bit to match, the album track is slightly flat of concert pitch.
N.B. On The Monkees TV live version, he is in proper concert pitch,
but he's tuned down a semi -tone on his 12 string.
He plays the chords as below, but he has his capo at the 3rd fret,
so it sounds in E.
To achieve the same key there is no need to de-tune,
just have your capo at the 2nd fret instead.
D4 = xx0233 Cadd9#11 = x30032 A = x02220
D = xx0232 G/B = x20033 G = 320033
Csus2 = x30033 Gmaj7/B = x20032 Bm = x24432
The later version on the 'Starsailor' album sounds in Bb,
probably played in G with capo at 3rd fret, and the recording
doesn't sound quite up to concert pitch.
Also on this album, the third verse line is-
'I am puzzled as the newborn child, I am as riddled as the tide'
apparently some people laughed when he sang the oyster line,
so he changed it.
