D G C D
I got a problem seems I could use your advice
   D G C D
Of all the things I need the most and went and got myself a brand new vice
     D D G C D
The first time that I did it I did it till the mornin' sun came
                 G C C G D
And now those little white lines, little white lines gonna sizzle up my brain

    D G C D
I woke up this mornin' didn't recognize my own face
         D G C D
I was lookin' thin and pale, boys, with little lines all over the place
             D G C D
Sometimes I wake up with my woman sometimes another man's girl
               G C C
And all those little white lines, little white lines gonna set fire
   G D
to my whole world

Chorus

G G
Little white lines on the highway
             G G D
Ill pick you up if you're goin' my way and you wanna roll
           G G
All those little white lines pullin' me down the highway
      G G A
Its a dusty, bumpy road if you're goin my way

Got myself in a little mess got busted down around Abilene
I was goin' way to fast boys feelin' lonesome, on'ry and mean
That judge said: Shave your face boy I'm kickin' you down the line
Now those little white lines, little white lines got me doin 20 years of hard time

Oh no! Take me back to the way it was now boy!

Repeat Chorus

Yes Sir
Oh yes Sir
Yes Sir
No I haven't been drinking tonight
Oh my wife's license I think I left them in my other pants
These pills are for my back... I have a bad back.
You want me to what? I aint getting out of this car
You want me to take what? What if I refuse
Ah Man you want me to shave my what?
Oh Hell not this again
Hey man these cuffs are a little too tight.
BUSTED AGAIN?

Hank Williams – Two Faced Preacher Chords

This is the work of Tim Ausburn.
Let me tell you about this song so that you don't think Hank had a habit of
bad-mouthing preachers. He wrote this song to chastise the radio preachers
who didn't practice what they preached. Much like the present day TV and
Radio preachers who say, "Send your money to Jesus, but put our names on the
checks!" After Hank had sung this song on radio a few times in the mid 40's,
the preachers that he was targeting sent him $22.00 and asked him not to
sing it anymore. This is the only time Hank was ever paid to not sing! Hank
gave the song to a young "Cowboy Jack" Loftin and told him to see if he
could make $22.00 with it. Jack finally recorded it in the mid 90's. I had
the pleasure of playing this song with Jack in a few jam sessions.

           TWO FACED PREACHER
Key E Writer, Hank Williams

(E) LET ME TELL YOU 'BOUT A PREACHER,

WITH A CANE AND A LONG TAILED COAT, (E7)

LET ME (A) TELL YOU 'BOUT A PREACHER,

WITH A CANE AND A LONG TAILED (E) COAT,

BUT HE (B7) DOES ALL HIS PREACHIN',

WITH HIS EYES ON THE WOMEN - (E) FOLK.

                           CHORUS

(E) SEND HIM BACK, SEND HIM BACK, WHERE HE (E7) WAS BE - (A) FORE,

HE'S A (B7) TWO-FACED MAN, AND WE DON'T WANT HIM HERE NO (E) MORE.

WELL HE PREACHED ABOUT GAMBLIN', SAID IT'S A SIN AND IT'S A SHAME,

YES HE PREACHED ABOUT GAMBLIN', SAID IT'S A SIN AND IT'S A SHAME,

BUT WHEN I MET HIM IN A ALLEY, HE WON MY WATCH AND CHAIN.

                        REPEAT CHORUS

WELL HE PREACHED ABOUT LIQUOR, SAID LEAVE THE STUFF ALONE,

YES HE PREACHED ABOUT LIQUOR, SAID LEAVE THE STUFF ALONE,

BUT THEN I SAW A DEACON, TOTIN' THE PREACHER HOME.

                      REPEAT CHORUS

WELL HE PREACHED ABOUT WEDLOCK, THE FINEST THING IN LIFE,

YES HE PREACHED ABOUT WEDLOCK, THE FINEST THING IN LIFE,

BUT THEN I SAW THE PREACHER, KISSIN' BROTHER JACKSON'S WIFE.

                      REPEAT CHORUS

Phil Ochs – Cops Of The World Chords

E A E A
Come, get out of the way, boys
E A E E7
Quick, get out of the way
G C G C
You'd better watch what you say, boys
G C B7
Better watch what you say
      E A
We've rammed in your harbor and tied to your port
        E A
And our pistols are hungry and our tempers are short
    E B7 E A Abm A
So bring your daughters around to the port
       B7 E
'Cause we're the Cops of the World, boys
B7 E
We're the Cops of the World

We pick and choose as please, boys
Pick and choose as please
You'd best get down on your knees, boys
Best get down on your knees
We're hairy and horny and ready to shack
We don't care if you're yellow or black
Just take off your clothes and lie down on your back
'Cause we're the Cops of the World, boys
We're the Cops of the World

Our boots are needing a shine, boys
Boots are needing a shine
But our Coca-cola is fine, boys
Coca-cola is fine
We've got to protect all our citizens fair
So we'll send a battalion for everyone there
And maybe we'll leave in a couple of years
'Cause we're the Cops of the World, boys
We're the Cops of the World

Dump the reds in a pile, boys
Dump the reds in a pile
You'd better wipe of that smile, boys
Better wipe off that smile
We'll spit through the streets of the cities we wreck
We'll find you a leader that you can't elect
Those treaties we sighned were a pain in the neck
'Cause we're the Cops of the World, boys
We're the Cops of the World

Clean the johns with a rag, boys
Clean the johns with a rag
If you like you can use your flag, boys
If you like you can use your flag
We've got too much money we're looking for toys
And guns will be guns and boys will be boys
But we'll gladly pay for all we destroy
'Cause we're the Cops of the World, boys
We're the Cops of the World

Please stay off of the grass, boys
Please stay off of the grass
Here's a kick in the ass, boys
Here's a kick in the ass
We'll smash down your doors, we don't bother to knock
We've done it before, so why all the shock?
We're the biggest and toughest kids on the block
'Cause we're the Cops of the World, boys
We're the Cops of the World

When we butchered your son, boys
When we butchered your son
Have a stick of our gum, boys
Have a stick of our buble-gum
We own half the world, oh say can you see
The name for our profits is democracy
So, like it or not, you will have to be free
'Cause we're the Cops of the World, boys
We're the Cops of the World

Josh Abbott Band – Brushy Creek Chords

E
I got a guitar, you got a smile
E A E
We can go to Brushy Creek for a while and have us a good time
            B
There ainÂ’t nothing like the sound
       A E
Of the hill country singing in the background

Well your grandparents own this land
Built this house with their hands and lived a good life
Now theyÂ’re looking down
Dancing to the hill country background

Chorus
   B
Oh thereÂ’s a round rock that lies midstream
A E
We can go there and share our dreams
B
Hike on up to the railroad tracks
A E
And maybe hold hands when we walk back

A place to think and come back home
When weÂ’re tired and feeling alone in this good life
Where our love is found
In the hill country singing in the background

Chorus

I got a guitar, you got a ring
LetÂ’s go to Brushy Creek this spring and have us a good time
There ainÂ’t nothing like the sound
Of the hill country singing in the background

Chorus

"I Am Weary Let Me Rest"

Performed by The Cox Family

>From the "O Brother Where Art Thou" Soundtrack CD

Kiss me mother kiss your darlin'
Lay my head upon your breast
Throw your loving arms around me
I am weary let me rest

Seems the light is swiftly fading
Brighter scenes they do now show
I am standing by the river
Angels wait to take me home

Kiss me mother kiss your darlin'
See the pain upon my brow
While I'll soon be with the angels
Fate has doomed my future now

Through the years you've always loved me
And my life you've tried to save
But now I shall slumber sweetly
In a deep and lonely grave

Kiss me mother kiss your darlin'
Lay my head upon your breast
Throw your loving arms around me
I am weary let me rest
I am weary let me rest

This is my first post to the newsgroup, so please excuse any stupid mistakes.
I saw Life in the Fast Lane by the Eagles in the Nevada site, but it
was a incomplete. I took the opening riff from the Nevada site, I have
no idea if the riff is correct. The chords and lyrics follow the riff
material. Enjoy!

Since, this is my first post please post or email any suggestions on how
to improve this post.

Thanks

From Nevada:
===============================================================================

Here is what I think the intro to Life in the Fast Lane (by the
Eagles) is:

E---------------------------------------------
B---------------------------------------------
G-----2---0--------------------2---0----------
D-0^2---2---2p0------------0^2---2---2p0------
A---------------0------------------------0----
E-----------------3-0----------------------3--

E----------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------
G-----2---0---------------2---0----------
D-0^2---2---2p0-------0^2---2---2p0------
A---------------0-------------------0----
E-----------------3-0-----------------3--

The difference between the two above riffs is that the first has a break in
it (the big space) and the second is continuous.

         E
He was a hard headed man. He was brutally handsome, and she was

terminally pretty. She held him up, and he held her for ransom in the
                                          A7
heart of the cold, cold city. He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dude.
         E B7
They said he was ruthless; they said he was crude. They had one thing
                                             A7
in common; they were good in bed. She'd say, "Faster, faster. The lights

are turnin' red."

E Tacet E Tacet E Tacet
Life in the fast lane surely make you lose your mind. Life in the
            E Tacet
fast lane, mmmm.

Are you with me so far?

E
Eager for action and hot for the game, the coming attraction, the drop

of a name. They knew all the right people; they took all the right

pills. They threw outrageous parties; they paid heavily bills.
          A7 E
There were lines on the mirror, lines on her face. She pretended not
                                           B7
to notice; she was caught up in the race. Out every evening until it
                A7
was light, he was too tired to make it; she was too tired to fight

about it.

E Tacet E Tacet E Tacet
Life in the fast lane; everything all the time. Life in the fast lane,
E Tacet
uh huh.

E
Blowin' and burnin', blinded by thirst, they didn't see the stop sign;

took a turn for the worst. She said, "Listen, baby. You can hear

the engine ring. We've been up and down this highway; haven't seen
                            A7
a god-dam thing." He said, "Call the doctor. I think I'm gonna crash.
   E
The doctor says he's coming; but you gotta pay him cast." They went
   B7 A7
rushin' down that freeway; messed around and got lost. They didn't

know they were just dying to get off.

Kevin Meisel – Coal And Diamonds Chords

Kevin Meisel Coal And Diamonds written by Kevin Meisel

E B E
We've both seen our faith slipping away
                     B
Over hard nights and gin
                    E
We've numbered our days
                        A
So baby what's it gonna take
                        E
To break into something new
                     B
With nothing left to lose
                     E
That's how I come to you
               B E
And we've both surrended to these bitter truths
                 B E
Hard things remembered have left their mark on you
                    A
So maybe now's the time
                     E
We take these tender things
         B E
Coal and diamonds that's what I bring
         A E
Coal and diamonds that's what I bring
                        B
Won't be one way or the other
                      E
But maybe both in the end
                     A
So lets loosen these tethers
                  E
And the ties that bind
                    B
Cause baby cold and diamonds
                             E
Are treasures well worth the find

SOLO

         A E

Won't be one way or the other
                      E
