The Door chords – Ryan Adams

Brilliant 'new' song that may appear on 'Blackhole', as played on the European dates of his 2014 tour - not a

tab from any studio recording, as none are (currently) publicly available!

Fairly confident the E in the verse is an Em7.

Also hard to be sure from the live recordings if the D in the pre-chorus is a D or a Dsus2.

The D in the verse is like C chord shape but moved up 2 frets - technically an Em9 with no 5th!! - see the

chords below.

Hi again! Someone asked me to put the chords above the lyrics like it's usually done so
here you are. :)

In my opinion this song's rythm is quite easy, nothing fancy, so if you want to practise
with the old tab (which I think is best) try playing with the music and using a
metronome (like http://www.metronomeonline.com/) on 44 (not sure so please comment if
you think I'm wrong)

Remember that for most of the songs it really doesn't matter if you get the same
strumming pattern as the original (just like you don't need to have the same voice as the
singer to sing his song) Nobody plays the same way, that's why covers are so cool imo ^^.

BTW ! Important !!

I heard a chord between the last ( Em ) of the bridge and the first ( D ) of the chorus -->
I think it's an A, but I'm not sure so please comment!!

My shade'll not cross your dear threshold again,
   Am C G
Bar the door Casey, mind the way well,
   Am E Am
And send my poor ghost on to heaven or hell.

   Am C G
Weve fought scores of sailors for the suds frae a keg,
           Am E
O'er the draw of a card, or a rare glimpse of leg,

We've graced Kuta's beaches with our pallid white skin,

Now Casey old mate, my barge has come in.

And send my poor ghost on to heaven or hell.

      Am C G
We've stormed foreign strands & taken our knocks,
      Am E
Held fast to our picket & lay siege to the docks,
      Am C G
We've mourned pals & lovers too long fore their time,
     Am E Am
Now Casey old China, the parting is mine.

   Am C G
Bar the door Casey, don't let me in,
    Am E
My shade'll not cross your dear threshold again,

I've penned a few lines to my missus of years,

If ye find where she's staying, don't wait for the tears,
          Am C G
And I've left a wee sum for to see me away,
       Am E Am
And a pint to fond memory at the close of the day.

Door Selection chords – I Cani

Smetterei di pippare, se solamente avessi iniziato
              C F C F
sarebbe una bella spesa in meno e davvero un bel gesto del resto
       C F C F
qui la fila non cammina da un pezzo e la gente ha la faccia aggressiva:

è qui per scopare, non può fare brutta figura.

 C F C F
Toglierei il saluto alla tipa all'ingresso, ma non me l'ha dato
          C F C F
ogni volta mi guarda con l'aria da Chi cazzo è questo? del resto
          C F C F C F
qui la fila non cammina lo stesso ma non ho alcuna fretta conosco benissimo cosa mi aspetta.

Le bariste che ci provano con me; i fuori sede che ci provano con le bariste coi soldi dei padri;

Some said the local lake had been enchanted
                                   G G B7 Em
Others said it must have been the weather
                                      Am Am G D
The neighbors were trying to keep it quiet

So they jokingly nicknamed it the porridge

Cause overnight that lake had turned as thick as butter
                                   Am Am G D
But the local kids would still go swimming, drinking
                                G
Saying that to them it doesn't matter

The genius next door was busing tables

Wiping clean the ketchup bottle labels
                                  Am Am G D
Getting high and mumbling German fables

To strip his clothes off by the dumpsters

At night while everyone was sleeping

In the morning the film crews start arriving

And you ne-ver will

 C#m A E
You can't even see I'm letting you go

 C#m B A E
I tried to wait for our love to grow
       C#m B E
But it nev-er will

Chorus:
          C#m B A E
So I'll lock the door and hide the keys
           C#m B E
You won't feel my love again
          C#m B A E
I won't take you back, if you were on your knees
        C#m B E
Anyway you would never beg

Verse 2:
 C#m A E
You told me you loved me with tears in your eyes
 C#m A E
But even tears can turn into lies
     C#m B A E
You said your love, would never die
        C#m B E
And it nev-er will

 C#m A E
And so you started slipping away
 C#m A E
You said it'd get better if I could just wait
     C#m B A E
I tried my best but it was just too late
        C#m B E
And it al-ways will

Chorus:
          C#m B A E
So I'll lock the door and hide the keys
           C#m B E
You won't feel my love again
          C#m B A E
I won't take you back, if you were on your knees
        C#m B E
Anyway you would never beg

Verse 3:
 C#m A E
I'll keep my heart locked in this room
 C#m A E
Board up the windows and seal up the tomb
       C#m B A E
These cracks in my walls, I'm scared they will fall too soon
          C#m B E
'Cause I want you still

Chorus 2:
          C#m B A E
So I'll lock the door and hope that you find the keys
          C#m B E
So I can feel your love again
        C#m B A E
Please take me back, look I am on my knees
               C#m B E
Though I was never one to beg
